Summary: DUEonq has no server. It never sends your data anywhere. Everything it reads and stores stays on your own computer, inside your browser.
DUEonq is a Chrome extension that shows assignment and quiz due dates from a student's D2L (Brightspace) site — whatever it's branded as at your school — in a single side panel.
What DUEonq accesses, and why
- Your school's D2L / Brightspace site (the domain you enter). DUEonq calls that site's own API, using your existing logged-in session, to read your course list, assignment and quiz due dates, course content, and announcements — the same data you could see by clicking around the site yourself.
- A security cookie ("XSRF" token) on that same site. D2L requires this token on certain requests to confirm they come from a real logged-in session. DUEonq reads this token only to attach it to its own requests to your school's site. It is not a password, and DUEonq never reads or stores your login credentials.
- Your D2L user ID. DUEonq briefly looks up your own user ID from the site (via its
whoami endpoint) so it can match grade and submission records to you rather than to other users in a shared course. This ID is used only in memory while the extension runs — it is not saved to storage or sent anywhere.
What DUEonq stores
DUEonq uses Chrome's local storage, which lives only on your device:
- The school domain you entered
- A cached copy of your courses, deadlines, and recent announcements, so the panel loads instantly
- Which items you've marked as done
- Your theme preference (light / dark / auto)
None of this is synced to a server, backed up externally, or shared with anyone, including us. Uninstalling the extension deletes it.
What DUEonq does not do
- It does not collect or transmit your name, email, password, or any other personal information to us or to any third party.
- It has no analytics, tracking, or advertising code.
- It does not run remote or externally loaded code.
- It cannot access any site other than the one D2L domain you explicitly connect it to.
Third parties
DUEonq shares data with no one. It only ever talks to the D2L domain you connect it to, which is operated by your own school, not by us.
